EMBERA Center is a Czech-English leisure and educational center that offers:

Czech-English preschool for kids from the age of 2 Afternoon
Czech-English preschool for both children and adults

Extra activities - pyjama parties, city camps, workshops for parents with children and others

The preschool program is led in group of children diverse in age. It is based around a personality oriented model of education. The contents of the program are concentrated around the child and their personal needs and it strives for a strong partnership between the lector, the child and the parents. The lectors come from different parts of the world and therefore the main languages for communicating are Czech and English. Each child is respected as a unique personality and the lectors are helpful, responsive and motivating partners to him/her. The children learn English in a very spontaneous and exciting way, thanks to the friendly, almost family like environment (max. capacity of 16 children). The main goal of the program is the development of social relationships, creativity and overall activity.

The language courses and extra activities occur in the afternoon, on the weekends or during the holidays. Atractive themes, small study groups and playful yet practical education all participate in motivating students to be active and to master the English language to an extent where they can communicate naturally and without restraint.

Student enrolment takes place the whole year round.

Daily program:
8:00 – 9:30 - The children’s arrival, independent play and individual work with the lectors
9:30 – 10:00 - Morning circle and organized activities
10:15 – 10:45 - Snack
11:00 – 12:00 - Outdoors activities
12:15 – 13:00 - Lunch and departure of the children/preparation for bed
13:00 – 14:30 - Rest/peaceful and educational activities
15:00 – 15:30 - Snack
15:30 – 16:00 - Independent play and the departure of the children

All of the activities are adapted to the specific needs of the children and the particular class situation. The contents of the organized activities arg descibed in the pedagically educational program derived from the General educational program for preschool education. Individual activities are picked, planned and alternated to suit the specific goals that arise from the overall approach of the school and the specific needs of individual children.

Education:
The main educational methods of our school are play and learning through experience. It is through those methods that the lectors allow the kids to experience and understand the world in their own active and creative way, while having enough space for spontaneous activity and unrestricted play.

With children younger than three years of age, there is a higher proclivity towards spontaneous activity, rather than organized endeavours. While planning the educational proposition, we concentrate on principles like: simplicity, low time demand, familiar environment, meaningfulness and stimulating nature, enough space and time to freely move and play.

Language courses
The English afternoon courses are meant for children from the age of three. They occur every week on Tuesday and Thursday from 16:00 – 16:45 and 17- 17:45. For educating we use materials published by the Oxford and Cambridge publishing houses. The classes take place in small groups of up to 6 children. All of our lectors are native speakers.

The Spanish and English courses for adults take place on Thursdays in the afternoon hours.

Extra activitiesare planned to take place once a month for chiildren from the age of three.
